Cat Attack!!!

April 29, 2007

These past couple of weeks, house of Harajuku & Biker has been invaded by the pitter pater of tiny feet. Our new kitten, Yammy has fully taken over our lives. He is adorable and clever likes to play loads and as I type is trying to make his own mark on this blog!!!  Even Biker is all gooey over little Yam-Yam, giving him all the baby talk and kissing and cuddling!!!

Not a lot can be said about Zuki though, she cannot stay in the same room as Yammy and is becoming more distant every day, now I’m worried about our other little cat as she’s growing wilder/strayer every day. Biker and I are trying to include her but I think it’s because she gets picked on by other cats in our neighbourhood and just cannot accept another cat in her home. She never was overly affectionate in fact sometimes she is downright mean! Ah well, I am hoping she will learn pretty quick that Yam Yam is here to stay and as he grows older maybe will help with keeping the neighbourhood cats from our back garden!

Now interestingly enough, my sister has just had a new baby and they came to visit en masse recently. I can see exactly the same happening with her 2 kids. Older niece now feels a bit left out as we’re all cooing over new baby – I am not sure how it can happen and I try and spend more time with older niece since babies under 2 years old and I don’t really mix. I like them when they can go toilet by themselves. But because within the family, baby niece demands so much time and attention it is quite hard to apportion enough time to it’s older sibling. Sad but true. My sister always told me that I was the favourite, but I think it’s because I was the youngest (for 10 years until Lil Bro came along, and now he’s favourite!). The politics of parenthood and families is way too hard to deal with so probably a good idea that Biker and I don’t have any since we are having enough trouble with our cats!!!
